EMDG (Export Grant)


The EMDG (Export Grant) or Market Development Grant scheme is a key Australian Government initiatives aims to encourage small and medium sized businesses to develop export markets. The scheme provides up to eight grants to each eligible applicant and reimburses up to 50% of eligible export promotion expenses above $5,000 provided that the total expenses are at least $15,000.

Your application will be successful if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are an Australian individual, partnership, company, association, co-operative, statutory corporation or trust that has carried on export promotion activities.
  • You are the principal (rather than the agent) in the promotion of any export activity.
  • Your annual income is no more than $50 million.
  • You incurred at least $15,000 of eligible expenses.
  • You have promoted the export of goods or services and intellectual property and know-how.
